American Behavioral Counseling

Under the medical direction of Dr. V, American Behavioral Counseling provides comprehensive mental health treatment to children, adolescents and adults. Our practice is an interdisciplinary group of mental health  professionals who provide superiority mental and physical health services to patients. Our staff of fully-licensed professionals offers a great selection of services for individuals of all ages, couples, and families.  Our belief is that the goal of counseling should be to solve problems efficiently and effectively while remaining sensitive and caring. Our treatment out look is based on extensive scientific research and clinical experience.

At American Behavioral Counseling, we begin with a thorough examination of the problems, then therapist and client work together to come up with the most appropriate plan for change and put it into practice. Our therapists take an active part in the counseling, helping clients to understand the difficulties they encounter, sharing their expertise, and providing support. Clients can expect to take home information and skills which are useful in daily life.

The consultation is conducted by a fully qualified consultant and is strictly confidential.  The surroundings are comfortable and relaxing to make it easier to express touchy problems that aren't always easy to talk about.  The first consultation will consist of mental, emotional, and physical symptoms.  A referral for any  further tests and evaluation and suggestion a course of treatment will depend upon patient's desires and requirements. The treatments could be in combination with the patient's General Practitioner, appropriate hospital,  medical, or social bodies. This will be conducted confidentially and with the approval of the patient.

At American Behavioral Counseling we understand that getting help is not easy. That is why our staff is friendly, our office is casual, comfortable, and your experience will be relaxing.

Services Provided

The primary goals of psychotherapy are to know yourself better, alleviate emotional pain or confusion, assist you in developing a more complete understanding of your psychological issues, establish more effective coping mechanisms, and foster a more accurate understanding of your past and what you want for your future.  ABC provides the following types of therapy:

  • Psychiatric Evaluation

  • Medication Management

  • Individual Psychotherapy

  • Group Therapy

  • Family Therapy

  • Marriage Counseling

  • Comprehensive Neuropsychological Evaluation

  • Psychological Testing

  • Psychological Evaluation

The more interested and involved you are in your therapy the better the outcome will be. Psychotherapy can at times evoke anxiety, fear, anger, frustration, loneliness and dependency feelings. Unpleasant realities if faced, can be worked through. The emphasis is in replacing fantasy, myth, and untruths with reality. Reality and truth can at times be painful, but will ultimately lead to more personal happiness and healthier relationships.

The goal of psychotherapy is not to change you,
change is your choice,
but it is to build awareness, compassion, understanding, respect,
empathy and acceptance toward yourself and others.
